IMAGE & TEXT ANALYTICS

When you upload a receipt image or forward an electronic receipt, Dolphyn uses multiple image and text analytics algorithms to recognize key receipt elements like total amount, tax amount, seller information, transaction date etc. The first step in image analysis is to extract the text information. Once the text is extracted, it is run through different computer functions to identify the key elements. The same process applies to electronic receipts as well. Once the text is extracted, the information is checked against Dolphyn databases in order to assist with identifying the elements. As more transactions are performed, Dolphyn learns from it and that helps improve accuracy of information. 
Dolphyn does not guarantee that the analysis performed will always be 100% accurate. Currently, Dolphyn cannot perform image and text analytics on uploaded receipts with multiple pages. We expect to provide this capability by Q4 2019.
